- Concentration Meditation: doing meditation by concentrating on an object (thought or concept, mantra, feeling or sensation, movement, etc), the type of meditation that has the most variations.
- Mindfulness Meditation: doing meditation by cultivating awareness, can have many variations, but the main object is basically just the awareness of the present moment.
